Masthead- The font is 'real graffiti' found on dafont.com and it was chosen due to its swagger and cool design that is almost graffiti like which would appeal to my target audience. graffiti is associated with a lot of grime and is commonly used in music videos and artwork.
Body Copy - I will be using the font Helvetica as my research shows that this sans serif font is easy to read and used mainly in double page spreads. This font is simple and neutral and is therefore a nice read for any readers and it enables people to have little confusion.
Headlines - I will be using 'Fresh Marker' because it follows the style of my masthead however it is less bold and will therefore not conflict and reduce the impact of the masthead. The style has connotations of urban art and is therefore aesthetically pleasing for my target audience due its trendiness.

Location release form
Location recce:
I have chosen Trent park as it is an urban area that is commonly visit by people within the age ranges of my target audience. The vast landscape gave me several pieces of scenery to take photos of my model and I have chosen the woods.
Risk assessment:
Mood board:
These images on my mood board will influence my magazine as these are some of the UK's biggest grime artists that have made grime a very popular genre that is followed massively in North London. I will be inspired by their outfits and colour scheme when creating my magazine.
Final fonts:

Colour scheme:
I have chosen these colours because they are popular, bright colour that will represent the genre in a more positive light and they all contain aspects of the same colours involved with grime. I have chosen blue as it holds a calming presence that almost creates a sense of relaxation for the reader. Blue is also commonly used in graffiti that is grime related. green is a very earthy colour that brightens up the page, therefore it is a powerful colour. Green links to grime as it is commonly used in clothing that artists wear. I chose orange due to its 'fire-like' connotations that create excitement and have an edgy sense which is a common theme in grime music.=
Final hand drawn sketches:
I have chosen these layouts as they hold the key features of a comprehensive magazine as well as being suitable to represent Grime. it also showcases some exciting content and is played out nicely.

Legal Issues:
Copyright is the law that stops others from using your own content for their personal use to benefit from it. It may affect my production as I could have to check all my media for copyright in order to avoid getting a lawsuit. It means that I would have to get permission to use others content such as profile pictures for example. I can resolve this by taking my own photos of my artists and writing my own content for my body copy, for example an interview with an up and coming artist. if I were to be sued then I would lose money and I could not afford to release more magazines, therefore the magazine could fail and my reputation could be ruined. I can also resolve this by asking permission to borrow other peoples work and sourcing it in my magazine and therefore I would not be sued.
Libel is a written form of slander, it is producing false/incorrect information based on someone or something that usually offends the victim. in order to avoid libel I would have toe sure that I use the correct information, for example I can't write about an artist history in case its incorrect and I affect their reputation. it may affect my production as I have to be careful in case my content contains slander. this can be resolved by checking the authenticity of my media content. This would then lead to readers trusting our magazine brand more than the competitor brands as we would have built up a relationship with the readers as they would become loyal customers to our magazine because we are feeding the information that is only true and not being used to slate other artists who may sue us if we are trying to ruin their reputation.
I may need to get a model release form signed by the model in order to have documented permission by them to take photos of them for my magazine. it may affect me if I don't and I could be told that I can't use the content if I don't get it signed. therefore, to resolve this issue I will make sure that the document is signed before taking photos. If my model is under the age of 18 I would need to ensure parents have given permission for me to use them as a model because they are legally children and taking pictures of them without parental consent is unlawful and therefore they may sue our magazine company.I would have to ensure that I gain a signature and that I'm not misrepresenting my artist or photographing under 18s without parental consent in order to avoid being sued.
The data protection act is a law this has set rules for how data should be used and treated. it may affect me as I would have to follow the act if readers sign up for emails or my online version of my magazine. Therefore, for example: I would not give any data for example an address of a reader away to a third party and I would keep all data secure on a hard drive. Also if someone cancels their subscription their data would not be kept longer than needed so as soon as its cancelled we remove all data
Ethical issues
Discrimination is the act of disrespecting someone because of their race, gender or sexuality or any other social characteristic. it could affect my magazine if I use racist stereotypes in my content, therefore I should check my content and make it as respectful as possible.
The use of swearing and inappropriate imagery is sometimes used in media content but is not looked upon keenly and is seen as unethical. it could result in the need to up my target group as well as losing potential customers, or even getting negative feedback in a newspaper which could ruin the magazine. Even though my primary target audience is over 18 and they may use language like this and graphic images may not be an issue for them to see we do not want to negatively impact my secondary target audience of under 18 and be a bad influence on how they speak and behave as we as a magazine may attract the negative attention of IPSO and it could lead to our magazine company being shut down. in order to resolve it I will check all content and ensure it is all clean and ethical.
Photo manipulation is the act of changing a photo from its original look into something completely fake. if I do this then it could mislead readers and possibly disappoint them. manipulated photo can also lead to viewers feeling self conscious. therefore, to resolve this I will only manipulate to improve their quality and not their presence.
Violence is very influential and is seen as ethically wrong in media content. I will make sure that violence isn't expressed explicitly in my magazine in order to not promote violence.
